Early preview: we're still adding products and guides, so the catalog is small for now.

How we check sizes

Small spaces leave no room for guesswork, so every product on Every Inch is listed with measurements you can trust — and the Fit Finder only shows products whose sizes we've checked.

Where the measurements come from

We take each measurement from the store or brand's product listing and keep the exact text it came from. Numbers are recorded exactly as listed, in the listing's own units, and converted between centimetres and inches by our software — never by hand or by guesswork.

How they're checked

  • Each value must appear in the listing text it was taken from.
  • Sizes are checked for mistakes — for example an impossible size, a folded size that's bigger than the open size, or an over-the-door product whose door range doesn't make sense.
  • A person reviews every product before it's published, and anything flagged is checked again.

We don't test products hands-on yet. Listings can be wrong, so always double-check the size on the store's page before you buy. Over time we plan to measure popular products ourselves and add fit reports from readers — “this fit my 14 cm gap” — so you can see how things work in real homes.

What “fits” means

The Fit Finder compares a product's width, depth and height with the space you enter, and leaves a little room around each side so it actually slides in: about ½ cm for a snug fit, 1 cm normally, and 2.5 cm for a roomy fit. If you allow it, we also check whether the product fits turned sideways. Products that don't list a measurement you asked about are left out rather than guessed.

What “renter-safe” means

Renter-safe products don't need drilling or screws. That includes freestanding pieces, tension rods, over-the-door and clamp-on storage, magnets, suction and removable adhesive strips. Adhesives and suction cups depend on the surface — test removable strips somewhere hidden on painted walls first.
